If you are looking for ways to increase the effectiveness and reach of your Adwords campaign, you may benefit from using an Adwords tool to help with one of many aspects of the campaign and the process of using Adwords.
Google itself offers tools to assist in using their service. The Google Adwords tool that is most heavily used by clients is the Keyword Tool. This tool allows a user to gauge what pages and with what searches their proposed ad will be displayed. To The tool will also generate new keyword ideas by showing related keywords and related searches.
To use the tool, go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. You can choose from two options: One is to type in a few descriptive words or phrases, the second is to type in your website’s URL. If you use the URL option, the Keyword tool will generate keyword suggestions based on your website content.
You can also enter keywords into another window, one per line, and have the tool generate related keywords. A new feature of the tool is the Search-based keyword tool that will find keywords based on actual Google searches. These keywords are matched to particular pages that you have on your website, and will generally not include keywords you’ve already designated in your account.
None of these methods are guaranteed to increase profitability, but often help drive traffic to your site by targeting new customers you’ve not reached before.
Google also has an Adwords tool for traffic estimation. By typing each of your keywords into the field at https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox, you can get an idea of how many people per day will see your ad, click on your ad, and a guess as to the cost of the campaign if you use those keywords.
You can sort by demographics such as language, countries, states and regions, and you can specify a daily budget if you wish.
In addition to Google-produced Adwords tools, there are hundreds of third party tools to help with creating and maximizing Adwords campaigns. Some are free (coming with advertising, of course) and others require a fee to use.
You’ll find directories listing many of the tools, and that may assist you in finding tools that work for you. Sometimes after using Adwords for a period of time, you will be better able to tell which Adwords tool might be helpful to you.
For example, there is an “Adwords Wrapper” tool that wraps particular keywords and phrases into quotes or brackets for you so that you can more quickly specify that you want only phrase matches (indicated by quotations) or exact matches [indicated by brackets] when your ads are placed on a page.
This tool simply speeds this process, saving you time. Like many Adwords tools, this tools is particularly useful for heavy Adwords users who deal with dozens of keywords at a time.
You can also find tools that run quick analysis of your Adwords results and let you see which are the most effective and which can be dropped.
Others help you choose targeted keywords, write excellent website copy to drive clicks and generate keyword ideas.
